The patient was treated at our medical centre in Bangkok, Thailand as an outpatient. Their accommodation was luxury serviced apartments directly opposite the medical centre.
David was in a very advanced stage of Liver disease, his SGOT level before treatment was sitting at 43 U/L and SGPT was sitting at 27 U/L, his albumin levels were very low, sitting at 2.8 g/dl. His ascites was very far advanced and causing him mobility and breathing problem.
After administration of stem cells his ascities continued to cause him problems and we performed an abdominal tapping procedure to remove around 3 litres of fluid. This came straight back and worsened. David went for a second tapping and this has now not returned.
He is now urinating alot during the day, compared to before treatment, when he recalls maybe once or twice a day.Second liver function tests show SGOT sitting at 27 U/L and SGPT sitting at 19 U/L, this would suggest if interpreted in a positive manner, a lowering of liver cells being destroyed. Taking into account his increase in urination, ascites not returning and the lowering of enzyme levels indicating liver cells bursting, we should think in a positive manner.
